Time is really flying by. It feels almost surreal that so much of the semester has already passed.

We have completed our first rheumatology exam, and the results are in. The course was both interesting and educational, although some parts could perhaps have been scaled back a bit. As always, it is a challenge to determine what is most relevant for one's future work, especially since everyone absorbs different things and experiences what is educational in their own way.

I have now started my fifth semester out of eight, and sometimes it feels like I just started the program. At the same time, I can clearly feel how I have developed, both as a student and as an individual. The education has truly shaped me in many ways, and it feels exciting to be in the middle of this journey, even if it is intense at times.

Studies have really kicked off in earnest now, with courses in manipulation techniques, sports medicine, and clinical sessions on the schedule. It is incredibly rewarding, but sometimes also frustrating when you realize how much more there is to learn. Even though we are constantly developing, it is clear that learning in our field is a lifelong process. There is so much to take in, and it requires both focus and patience. Unfortunately, I find that time for recovery is not always what one would wish for or need – it is difficult to find the balance.

On a brighter note, we recently held the orientation for the first-year students. Last Friday was the orientation pub, where the new students put on a mandatory dance performance. It was fantastic to see how strong the cohesion is, despite different ages and semesters. There is truly a wonderful sense of community that permeates the entire program, and that is something I appreciate enormously.

Now I look forward to what the rest of the semester has to offer, while trying to find that important balance between studies and recovery. The journey continues, and I am grateful for everything I learn along the way.
