Before your visit

Before your visit to the Naprapathic College clinic, it may be helpful to know our routines, such as the fact that we are a cashless clinic and that the majority of your first visit is dedicated to an examination.

Our terms and conditions

Booking

An appointment at the Naprapathic College clinic is booked via our online booking system or by calling +46 8 31 19 19.

When you call the clinic, our receptionist will ask you a few questions to ensure you are booked with a therapist from the appropriate year of study. If we determine that you need help from another healthcare provider, such as a doctor, we will recommend that.

If you would like to book an appointment with a student you have visited before or have been recommended to, please book via phone.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, this must be done at least 24 hours before the visit, either by phone or email. Appointments cancelled or changed later than this will be invoiced.

Visit

Payment

When you arrive at the clinic, please check in and pay at the reception. Please note that we only accept card payments.

If you have purchased an offer from us, the receipt must be shown at the time of the visit; otherwise, payment must be made on-site.

Health declaration and informed consent

When you book an initial visit, you will receive an email with two links to different forms: one is a health declaration, and the other is informed consent for treatment. Please fill these out online so they are automatically saved to your patient record. If you do not complete them online, you can do so on paper at the reception; you then give the health declaration to the naprapathy student who receives you. It is important that the health declaration is filled out correctly, as it contains questions that we must take into account before both examination and treatment.

Medical history and examination

The naprapathy student will come to the waiting room to collect you and accompany you to the treatment room. There, you will be asked to describe your symptoms and answer questions about them; in medical records, this is called an anamnesis. This is followed by a thorough examination based on your reason for visiting and the information gathered during the history-taking.

Appointment and treatment duration

Appointment duration approx. 45 min.
During the first visit, a significant portion of the time will be dedicated to taking your medical history and performing an examination. The results of the examination lead to a diagnosis, which in turn forms the basis for the treatment plan. Consequently, the time spent on manual treatment during a first visit is shorter than during a follow-up visit. Please also note that the therapist's documentation is included in the appointment time. This means that the actual treatment time will be shorter than what is stated in the booking confirmation.

Patient information

At the Naprapathic College clinic, you will meet the naprapaths of the future.
The Naprapathic College, with over 50 years of experience, is the largest college for manual medicine in the Nordic region, with approximately 200 students. The 4-year program combines theoretical, practical, and clinical instruction, with students beginning to see patients as early as their second semester. Clinical practice is integrated with theoretical and practical training to provide in-depth knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders and pathology. The focus is on a person-centered treatment strategy, and from the very first year, students meet patients at the college clinic under the supervision of experienced naprapaths.

Evidence-based care
The Naprapathic College clinic applies evidence-based care, which is built on a conscious and systematic integration of multiple sources of knowledge in decision-making. This includes the best available science, proven experience, and consideration of the patient's individual situation, experiences, and preferences through a person-centered approach.

Patient-safe care
‍At the Naprapathic College clinic, patient safety is of the utmost importance. Patient-safe care means minimizing the risk of care-related injuries and prioritizing patient safety through evidence-based methods, clear communication, and patient participation. Work is carried out systematically in accordance with the Patient Safety Act (PSL) to prevent risks and manage deviations, with the goal of continuously improving the quality of care and patient safety.

‍Zero tolerance for discrimination
The Naprapathic College clinic has a zero-tolerance policy regarding all forms of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment. This means that students at the Naprapathic College must treat patients with respect. The same applies equally to patients, who must show respect toward the students. Based on the principle of the equal value of all people, it is permitted to have preferences regarding which student acts as your therapist, but requests of a discriminatory nature—such as specific requirements regarding gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, or similar—cannot be accommodated.

‍Care by consultation
‍As part of the quality assurance work continuously conducted at the Naprapathic College, and to further strengthen patient safety, written informed consent is used for treatment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your therapist or the supervisor on duty before signing the consent form.
