The Education Board at NIMM is the highest decision-making body regarding educational matters. The Education Board is responsible for developing the quality plan for the operations on an annual basis and makes decisions concerning the design of the educational program, such as study plans and syllabi, faculty matters, and issues regarding the study environment. The Chair is the Principal, and other members include Directors of Studies, the Clinic Manager, subject representatives in naprapathy/chiropractic/osteopathy, the Pedagogical Leader, and the Chair and two representatives from the Student Union. In addition, the members include two professional representatives ("senior advisors," formerly active on the Student Union board) who are recently graduated students (within five years), with the aim of contributing to ensuring that the educational goals provide a solid foundation for future professional life. An adjunct member is invited to one meeting per academic year and consists of a representative from a professional association. The Education Board holds four regular meetings per semester. Approved minutes and signed decisions are available on the learning platform, visible to students, teachers, and staff.
The Admissions Board at NIMM designs guidelines for applications, eligibility requirements, and selection for the educational programs. The chair is the Education Coordinator, and other members include the Principal and a representative from the Student Union. The Admissions Board holds one to two meetings per year.
The Disciplinary Board at NIMM is convened in cases of suspected cheating, disruption of school activities—including teaching and examinations—or harassment. The chair is the Principal, and other members include a legal professional/lawyer, Directors of Studies, and the Student Union President.
The main task of the Program Committee at NIMM is to lead and develop the main subjects of naprapathy and chiropractic based on science and proven experience, as well as to safeguard the unique nature of the professions. The chair is the subject representative for the main subject of naprapathy, and other members include the Principal, Directors of Studies, the Pedagogical Leader, and course coordinators within naprapathy/chiropractic. The Program Committee holds two regular meetings per semester.
The Student Affairs Committee at NIMM addresses students' experiences and views on the education, such as the social study environment, student perspectives on teachers, course content, course literature, and examination formats. Student representatives prepare matters with their respective classes and provide feedback to the class after meetings. The Director of Studies also shares information from course evaluations. The chair is the Principal, and other members include Directors of Studies, subject representatives for the main subjects of naprapathy/chiropractic, the Clinic Manager, the Education Coordinator, office staff, the Pedagogical Leader, the Student Union President, and student representatives. The Budget Committee at NIMM is responsible for preparing and proposing the budget to the college board, creating forecasts, and monitoring the budget and relevant key performance indicators during the fiscal year. The chair is the controller, and other members include the Principal, Administrative Director, Administrative Manager, Clinic Manager, and Finance Assistant. The Budget Committee holds two to three regular meetings per semester.
The program management at NIMM ensures that daily operational activities related to teaching are functioning well, such as scheduling, planning of teaching staff, examination procedures, and teaching materials. The program management consists of the Principal, Directors of Studies, Administrative Manager, and Clinic Manager. Weekly meetings are held within the program management during the semester.
Subject Representatives: As part of ensuring educational objectives, the program is divided into six subject areas, led by subject representatives who typically hold doctoral degrees. Subject representatives are responsible for the quality assurance and development of their subject areas and the associated courses, with particular emphasis on scientific foundations, student-centered learning, teaching, and assessments. The competency requirement is that subject representatives must hold a doctoral degree in a field relevant to the subject area. It is considered an advantage if the subject representative is research-active and has completed training in higher education pedagogy.
Course Coordinator: The task of the course coordinator is to plan and conduct the course in accordance with the guidelines in the syllabus. The course coordinator is responsible for integrating the various parts of the course into a cohesive whole and ensuring that this structure is clear to both students and other teachers. The examiner is usually the same person as the course coordinator. The competency requirement is that course coordinators/examiners must hold a doctoral degree in a field relevant to the subject area. The Principal appoints the examiner. In cases where a course coordinator/examiner possesses extensive pedagogical and profession-specific knowledge, the Principal may also appoint an examiner who lacks formal scientific qualifications.
Consists of administrative support functions for areas such as finance, facilities, student services, IT, communications, and marketing.
The Strategy Group is an advisory platform for discussing issues relevant to both higher education institutions and professional associations. The purpose is to work together to strengthen the role of naprapathy in society and to collectively bolster and develop the field within both academic and professional spheres, both nationally and internationally. The Strategy Group consists of representatives from NIMM, the Finnish naprapathy program at the undergraduate and master's level at the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK), as well as representatives from professional associations for naprapaths and chiropractors in Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
NIMM's advisory board. Historically, this has consisted of policy experts, industry representatives, and representatives from the academic and research communities. The work of the advisory board is currently on hold.
