Since treatments at the NIMM clinic are VAT-exempt, they do not qualify as wellness benefits. It is up to your employer to decide whether or not to accept the receipt.

No, we are a cashless clinic and only accept card payments.

Approx. 35 min. During your first visit, a significant portion of the time will be spent on an examination. The students are responsible for their own diagnoses, and the examination is performed so that the student can make an accurate diagnosis and plan the treatment accordingly. To get an idea of how previous treatment has affected the tissues, a shorter examination is also performed during follow-up visits; however, you can expect the focus then to be on addressing the issue you are seeking help for.

Your 45-minute appointment includes the examination and treatment, as well as time for medical charting and preparing the treatment room for the next patient. This means the actual time spent on the treatment table will be shorter (approximately 35 minutes) than the time shown in your booking.

You are welcome to express preferences, but you cannot choose who examines and treats you. Requests based on discriminatory grounds—such as the gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, or similar characteristics of your therapist—cannot be accommodated.

NIMM's clinic has a zero-tolerance policy regarding all forms of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment. This means that students at the Nordic Institute of Manual Medicine must treat patients with respect. The same applies in reverse; patients must also treat students with respect. Based on the principle of equal human value, patients are welcome to express preferences regarding their student therapist, but requests of a discriminatory nature—such as specific requirements regarding gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, or similar—cannot be accommodated.

All examinations and treatments are performed by students under the supervision of licensed naprapaths with extensive clinical experience.

Children and adolescents under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian throughout their visit, but otherwise, we have no age limit.

Examinations and treatments are performed with the patient in their underwear. This allows the student to observe any asymmetries and palpate (feel with their hands) muscles and joints to reach an accurate diagnosis.

During treatment, a supervisor may enter the treatment room to engage in clinical discussion with the student; this is a part of the instruction. The supervisor decides whether or not to assist with the examination, but no treatment is performed by the supervisor. As a patient, you do not have the right to deny the supervisor access to the treatment room for any reason. The students also have peer-to-peer sessions in their curriculum where they sit in on each other's sessions to observe how other students work.

The treatment period can vary from a few weeks to several months, depending on the condition and its underlying cause. A longer series of treatments does not necessarily mean more sessions, but may instead mean that you as a patient have more to work on between visits.

A visit to the NIMM clinic costs 375 SEK and is performed by a student under the supervision of an osteopath, licensed naprapath, or chiropractor with extensive clinical experience.

At the NIMM clinic, patient safety is our top priority. Providing safe care means minimizing the risk of harm and prioritizing patient safety through evidence-based methods, clear communication, and active patient involvement. We work systematically in accordance with the Patient Safety Act (PSL) to prevent risks and manage incidents, with the goal of continuously improving the quality of care and the well-being of our patients.

NIMM's clinic uses integrated medical records. This means that all students and supervisors working at the clinic have access to all records. As a patient, you may opt out of integrated record-keeping; please inform your treating therapist if you wish to do so. In accordance with the Patient Data Act (2008:355), medical records must be retained.

NIMM clinic uses Clinicbuddy as our electronic health record (EHR) provider and for collecting health data. All forms are linked directly to your medical record. You submit information via an encrypted connection (HTTPS), which goes directly to Clinicbuddy and their databases. The provider complies with all applicable laws, including GDPR, the Swedish Personal Data Act, the Patient Records Act, and the Patient Data Act. These laws provide a safety net for handling your health data, and we are confident in their security measures. As a patient, you are covered by the Nordic Institute of Manual Medicine's patient insurance. Please note that NIMM is not responsible for personal belongings.
