Vice-Chancellor
Licensed Physician, PhD

I am the Vice-Chancellor and Head of Subject for Health and Disease, as well as Chair of the Education Board and the Disciplinary Board. In addition to my leadership roles, I also teach. My clinical and scientific focus is on anesthesia and intensive care, with a particular emphasis on pain. I received my PhD in 2005 from Karolinska Institutet with the thesis “Human experimental pain models: Methodological & analgesic studies,” following studies at institutions including the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Free University of Berlin.

As a board member and Administrative Director, I am responsible for the college's administrative processes and serve on both the management team and the budget committee. I have a background in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and production management from Stockholm University. In addition to my role at NIMM, I also hold several external board positions.

Program Director for the Naprapathy Program, Clinic Manager, Licensed Naprapath

In my role as Program Director, I am responsible for developing and leading the naprapathy program. This includes study and course syllabi, quality assurance and validation of the program, as well as representing the program to various stakeholders. As Clinic Manager, I lead the daily operations at the college clinic, with a focus on patient care, student supervision, and operational development.

Program Director for the Chiropractic Program
Licensed Chiropractor

I am a licensed chiropractor and received my PhD in 2016 from Karolinska Institutet with the thesis “Prevention of low back pain – effect, cost-effectiveness, and cost-utility of maintenance care: study protocol for a randomized clinical trial.” My research concerns the prevention and progression of long-term and recurrent lower back pain, with a focus on the significance of psychological factors and the implementation of preventive treatment in healthcare. As Program Director, I am responsible for developing and leading the chiropractic program. This includes study and course syllabi, quality assurance, and validation of the program, as well as representing the program to various stakeholders. I also teach myself to ensure a close connection between theory and practice.

Program Director for the Osteopathy Program
MSc in Osteopathy, PhD

At NIMM, I work with the development of the osteopathy program, study and course syllabi, and quality assurance. In addition to my leadership role, I conduct research and teach. As a practicing osteopath since 2001, I have a broad interest in musculoskeletal health and respiratory medicine, with a particular focus on the relationship between musculoskeletal and respiratory functions in chronic conditions, multimodal care strategies, and person-centered care. I received my PhD in 2024 from Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, with the thesis "Thoracic Mobility in Cystic Fibrosis Care." My research is conducted in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg and the Health Sciences University in London.

I am an Associate Professor of Medical Education at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) at Karolinska Institutet. In 2016, I received my PhD from Karolinska Institutet with the doctoral thesis “It takes two to tango – an inquiry into healthcare professional education environments.”

As Director of Studies for years 1–2, I am responsible for the quality assurance and development of our educational programs. My work involves planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction, as well as ensuring that our curriculum is evidence-based and reflects current societal developments. I work in close collaboration with educational coordinators, the head of the clinic, faculty, and external specialists.

I am the Director of Studies for years 3–4 and am responsible for the final stages of the program, which include the independent degree project leading to graduation. My role encompasses the planning, management, and follow-up of instruction, as well as ensuring that the education is based on scientific evidence. I work closely with education coordinators, the clinic manager, teachers, and external specialists to promote high quality in both theory and clinical practice.

RESPONSIBLE FOR QUALITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE MAIN FIELD OF NAPRAPATHY LICENSED NAPRAPATH, DOCTORAL STUDENT

I hold a Master’s degree in Naprapathy from XAMK, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, and am a doctoral student at Sophiahemmet University within the MUSIC group, led by Professor Eva Skillgate. As Director of Studies, I am responsible for the quality development of the main field of study, Naprapathy. My role involves monitoring advancements in manual medicine and the societal developments that impact the field. I work in close collaboration with subject representatives, course coordinators, and other directors of studies.

I work with educational information and am responsible for coordinating education at NIMM. My role includes admissions, preparatory courses, and education fairs, as well as answering questions regarding education and admissions. I chair the Admissions Board and have overall responsibility for years 1–4, while also working specifically as the education coordinator for years 1–2.

I studied at Berghs School of Communication, specializing in marketing and strategic communication.

My teaching is primarily focused on manipulation techniques, both practical and clinical. I have extensive pedagogical and clinical experience within the field of naprapathy. In addition to teaching, I am part of the Naprapathy Group, which is responsible for planning and developing the curriculum, and I also work clinically as a naprapath.

With broad experience in sports and athletics, I work as a lecturer at NIMM. I have worked with everything from national teams to youth sports and have pursued further education in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and ultrasound diagnostics. Additionally, I am a licensed personal trainer from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. My teaching is primarily focused on sports medicine and clinical naprapathy.

Through my training in cognitive psychotherapy, I integrate psychological and communicative perspectives into my teaching. My goal is to strengthen students' ability to meet patients in a professional and holistic manner.

I have a background as a competitive swimmer and dancer, and a career primarily in lifesaving sports. As a naprapath, I have been part of the medical team for the national military lifesaving and naval pentathlon teams since 2010. In this role, I have participated in national, European, and world championships, as well as the Military World Games. My areas of expertise in naprapathy include sports-related issues in the shoulders, hips, knees, and feet.

I am a Professor of Nursing Science at Sophiahemmet University and a Professor of Epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet. My research focuses on musculoskeletal disorders, prevention and treatment, and how various factors influence health and disease progression. I lead the MUSIC group (Musculoskeletal & Sports Injury Epidemiology Center) at Sophiahemmet University and supervise doctoral students in the fields of manual medicine and epidemiology.

I am a licensed chiropractor and Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet. As Research Director, my role involves initiating research projects, as well as supporting and supervising to advance research in manual medicine. My goal is to maintain a stable research environment at NIMM, where students have the opportunity to actively engage in ongoing projects of publishable quality. I divide my time between NIMM, the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) at Karolinska Institutet, and the foundation Et Liv i Bevegelse in Norway.
