Study Hall - The School of Naprapathy is allocating resources to support first-year students in their studies!
The COVID-19 situation has resulted in changes to the study plans for most students, including those in the new first-year class.
Starting a program where the majority of lessons are held remotely presents challenges. We are not alone in this situation, although every educational institution has its own unique circumstances, and ours is distinguished by a high volume of practical and clinical work.
The School of Naprapathy has therefore prioritized the use of our facilities for lessons that are not suitable for remote learning, i.e., the practical sessions. As with other classes, theory lessons for the first semester will take place remotely.
To prioritize our new students, we have allocated resources to allow for in-person meetings on campus in small groups. The purpose of the "study hall" is to provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the material covered in lectures.
Senior students, primarily from the fourth year, will be on-site to support learning and help explain concepts that students find difficult or that were covered too quickly. Educational research shows that peer-to-peer tutoring is a highly successful concept. We plan to start with the Physiology 2 and Anatomy 3 courses to see how the project turns out.
