The Naprapathic program is based on a social constructivist approach to teaching, learning, and knowledge. This means that knowledge and understanding are constructed through experience, that learning involves building new models or adjusting existing ones, and that learning is fostered through collaboration with others.
The program places great emphasis on student engagement and personal responsibility for learning. Student-activating methods are used throughout to encourage independence and lifelong learning, while building a strong foundation for scientific and critical thinking.
The educational environment is characterized by research-based teaching and learning activities that help students develop the ability to understand, evaluate, and apply the processes through which scientific knowledge is generated and continuously re-evaluated (the research process).
Per Palmgren, Educational Director at the School of Naprapathy, attended the Karolinska Institutet Education Congress 2022, "Continuous learning - Person, Practitioner, Workplace," last week. The first day of the congress focused on defining continuous learning from various perspectives, while the second day was filled with discussions and exchanges on how educators can practically implement continuous learning. Per also participated in an important workshop on equality in education and teaching.
We look forward to applying these new insights to further develop the educational environment at the School of Naprapathy!
