This week, Per Palmgren, Senior Lecturer in Education at the School of Naprapathy and Associate Professor of Medical Education at Karolinska Institutet, held a pedagogical workshop for the school's management and faculty. We explored key pedagogical concepts and examined what teaching and learning truly entail.

Take-home message:

• The importance of learning objectives:
  Meaning that both teachers and students are aware of how these are used to guide learning and instruction across the various courses in the naprapathy program.
• The significance of constructive alignment:
  Ensuring that the teacher's intentions, teaching and learning activities, and assessments form a cohesive, logical thread.
• The value of variety:
  Teaching and learning activities should be varied in nature, and lectures should be infused with student-centered activities that allow for reflection, encourage pair discussions—so-called buzz groups—and provide opportunities for feedback using tools like mentometers.

These pedagogical tools were further discussed during this week's meeting of the "Naprapathy Group," which has now been renamed the "Program Committee." How can we continue to implement these tools to facilitate learning for our students?
