The past academic year at the School of Naprapathy has been heavily defined by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) review. This process has been stimulating, demanding hard work, and has provided us with valuable insights into our operations, contributed to our quality development, and engaged our entire educational community. Students have contributed by evaluating courses, providing valuable feedback, and through representation on boards and committees. Our staff and faculty have had the opportunity to document and reflect on what defines high-quality education in the field of naprapathy. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for your commitment and contribution to this success!

The UKÄ’s supervisory mandate was based on the government’s decision of June 22, 2022. According to this decision, the UKÄ is responsible for reviewing post-secondary education programs eligible for student financial aid to ensure they meet the quality requirements for university-level education. The assessment criteria were evaluated with this context as a starting point.
The final decision and statement from the UKÄ show that we meet all assessment criteria in a satisfactory manner:
“A guarantee that a program eligible for student financial aid and leading to professional licensure meets the requirements set by society and the healthcare sector is knowledge development based on scientific activity and that students are given the opportunity to practice in an authentic context. The assessment panel’s overall impression is that the program has put in solid work regarding self-evaluation and documentation, and that there is a clear ambition and direction regarding scientific activity and collaboration with the surrounding community. A strength of the program is a strong commitment and small-scale environment, which provides good conditions for meaningful and student-centered learning and continuity in development work. An important area for development is to provide the program with a clearer scientific foundation, both in terms of staff and the educational environment. It is the assessment panel’s hope that the feedback provided can be used for continued development.”

In summary, this process has been demanding but also highly educational and stimulating. It will form the basis for our continued quality development at the School of Naprapathy. We are very proud and grateful for the positive assessment and look forward to continuing to develop and further strengthen our education!
