This means that teachers with many years of clinical experience see patients at the school. Students from all years of the program observe the patient visits, gaining insight into patient interaction, examinations, diagnostics, and various treatment strategies. The goal is to further strengthen the pedagogy in the program's most important subject, build frames of reference through strong role models, and create space for clinical discussions and reflection early on in the education. School of Naprapathy teacher Nidal Awad is the first to conduct these "teacher treatments," and the hope is that more teachers and clinically active naprapaths will participate and contribute to the project's development in the future.
So far, the response has been very positive from students, patients, and the teacher alike!
