On February 9, 2023, the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) informed both educational institutions of their intention to initiate a review of the study programs to assess whether they meet the quality requirements applicable to university-level education. The oversight of the School of Naprapathy is not being conducted due to any specific incident, but solely as a result of UKÄ now being assigned formal supervisory responsibility.
School of Naprapathy has long been engaged in purposeful development work aimed at strengthening the academic level of the program. Both supervision and review contribute positively to the college's quality assurance efforts, and we therefore welcome this decision and look forward to beginning the work.
As President, I would like to highlight the solid development work made possible through excellent collaboration with all students and the Student Union at School of Naprapathy, the naprapathy program at XAMK in Finland, the professional associations for naprapaths in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, as well as the research groups at Karolinska Institutet and Sophiahemmet University that we collaborate with.
