Students in years 2 & 4 attended a lecture by licensed naprapath and researcher Titti Lilje on “Research on the pelvis and health economics”.
Titti received her PhD from Blekinge Institute of Technology in 2015 with the thesis ”Aspects of musculoskeletal pain interfering with normal life and naprapathic manual therapy from a healthy technology assessment perspective”. Since then, she has conducted research at Karolinska Institutet and Sophiahemmet University, within the Musculoskeletal and Sports Injury Epidemiology Center (MUSIC) research group.
Today, Titti continues her research in health economics as well as pregnancy and pelvic girdle pain. This work includes collaboration with a research group at Lund University. The goal is to identify which women are affected by pelvic girdle pain and to alleviate the pain through naprapathy. The standard care provided today—information, belts, and sick leave—is not really care at all. There is also no research evidence to suggest it has any effect, Titti explains. According to her, naprapathy could be a way to alleviate problems associated with pelvic girdle pain.
Thank you, Titti, for highlighting such an important group and for your significant contributions to the field of naprapathy!
