Naturally, a portion of the discussion focused on the COVID-19 situation and its impact on both education and the profession. In addition, Finland reported on the admissions process for the new Master's program at XAMK, as well as the association's work with its new board. Norway provided an update on the ongoing political efforts to secure professional authorization for Norwegian naprapaths.
The Swedish Naprapathic Association gave an account of, among other things, their continued research initiatives and their hopes of being able to hold the Forum on Manual Medicine (FoMM) congress next spring.
The School of Naprapathy provided information regarding the ongoing quality assurance work that is carried out continuously to ensure the quality of the education. We also shared information about our collaboration with the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and the work to implement a new technical solution for teaching manipulation techniques, Force Sensing Table Technology (FSTT), into the undergraduate program.
Furthermore, we discussed the possibilities for a collaboration between the Nordic professional associations and the School of Naprapathy regarding more formalized work on a joint continuing education program. The School of Naprapathy should be a natural source of knowledge both during and after the completion of the undergraduate program. This is to ensure the progressive development of knowledge among naprapaths, based on science and proven experience. Further discussions on this work will continue at the next meeting in March 2021.
