The purpose is, among other things, to identify and analyze the need for specialized expertise within healthcare and dental care. The assignment includes mapping existing opportunities for further education for regulated professional groups, analyzing the need for changes in how the quality of further education is ensured, and assessing whether it is appropriate to introduce requirements for continuous professional development for certain licensed professional groups. Enhanced patient safety must be the starting point for all assessments and proposals. Harriet Wallberg, former President of Karolinska Institutet, has been appointed as the special investigator.

Right now, various professional associations, including the Swedish Naprapathic Association, are working on responding to questions regarding their views on, among other things, the needs of professional groups, regulation, and quality assurance of further education and professional development. The School of Naprapathy, with over 50 years as a successful educational provider in manual medicine, can and wants to be an active partner to the professional association and its members in the development of both further education and professional development courses to ensure the supply of competent naprapaths – today and in the future.
The final report for the assignment is due in March 2025.
