Yesterday, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, in consultation with regional medical officers for communicable diseases, announced a decision on stricter general local recommendations in several regions, including Stockholm. The purpose is to reduce the spread of infection as the pressure on the healthcare system has begun to increase.
This is not really about new rules or guidelines, but rather advice that existing ones should be applied more strictly. Last week, the School of Naprapathy issued mid-term information regarding the COVID-19 situation and the school's current policy. For the College, this means that operations will continue as before, using the infection-prevention measures we have developed since the pandemic began last spring. It is important that everyone realizes that the precautionary principle of maintaining distance and avoiding crowding applies just as much inside the school as it does outside. This includes, among other things, a recommendation against organizing or attending parties or similar social gatherings. The College is not closing its premises to students or staff at this time, but continues to operate under these precautionary principles. As before, the College is monitoring the general development of the spread of infection and is prepared to adapt operations on short notice if necessary.
The spread of infection at the School of Naprapathy has not been worrying in any way so far, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure it stays that way as we enter this new phase!
