For most of us, a new year brings a sense of a fresh start and renewed energy. At the School of Naprapathy, we have several ongoing projects that we are eager to continue with renewed vigor. As is typical for this time of year, this includes attending education fairs in both Sweden and Norway to provide information about naprapathy and our degree program, followed by our Open House in March. In April, we look forward to FoMM – the largest congress for manual medicine in the Nordic region, organized by the Swedish Naprapathic Association. In May, the graduating class DN57 will present their final theses, which is always an interesting and educational experience. I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to attend this event from May 5th to 7th. Last but not least, we are of course looking forward to celebrating the graduating class with a festive ceremony in June, which will be held at the Grand Hôtel in keeping with tradition.

In addition to this, the College is working with the Swedish Naprapathic Association and the National Board of Health and Welfare to review the rules and regulations regarding post-graduate internships. The goal is to increase the number of available internship placements, particularly for the three-month period within the public healthcare sector, and to clarify which placements are eligible. Furthermore, we are approaching the final phase of the revision of “Framework for Systematic Quality Work at the School of Naprapathy”. During the spring, the revision of “Safety Manual and Guidelines for Naprapaths” will also be completed, in collaboration with the Swedish Naprapathic Association. We also expect to receive the results of the Swedish Higher Education Authority’s audit of the naprapathy program this spring. In summary, we have a stimulating spring semester ahead of us at the College. Personally, I am very much looking forward to the increased teaching I will be doing this semester. It is always valuable and energizing to meet you, the students, in the classroom! The educational culture at the College is created and developed through the interaction between staff, students, patients, and other stakeholders, and is built on openness, honesty, and respect for the equal value of all people.
