Yesterday, the Strategy Group at the School of Naprapathy held a meeting, bringing together the Finnish educational program along with the Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish professional associations to discuss and address key strategic issues.
The college's path toward academic status is one such key strategic point. Per Palmgren, Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet (KI) and lecturer at the college, was invited to shed light on the issue from a pedagogical perspective. Furthermore, the Norwegian association reported that another step toward the final authorization process will take place over the summer. Finland reported that they have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, just like the rest of us, and most activities have had to be postponed. Work on SoMe continues. The Swedish Naprapathic Association informed us that work on the new patient safety manual is entering its final phase. The importance of continued momentum in basic research within clinical naprapathy was highlighted. Regarding further professional development for the field, there is hope that activities can resume after the summer. The Swedish Naprapathic Association's survey regarding which subject areas members wish to see covered will form the basis for the course offerings from the college.
In conclusion, it was noted that the date for Naprapathy Day has been set for September 30th. The hope is that together we can highlight the societal benefits of naprapathy on this day.
