The semester has passed its midpoint, and we are leaving the Neurology course behind us.
Neurology has been interesting and exciting, but also a bit tough because there are so many examination methods, symptoms, and diseases to understand. It is easy to get too deep into the subject when you become so interested in understanding what you are seeing in different examinations and what the differences are between various methods.
Perhaps not everyone has the interest or desire to learn so much about neurology; I personally even felt some parts were missing, but maybe that will be covered in more detail in another course. If not, I will have to delve into it myself using literature when time and space allow.
Now we are starting a section within sports medicine called diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation. I might not be jumping for joy now that it is on the schedule, but it will be interesting to learn about the healing process for different types of injuries. There is surely knowledge, tests, and methods here that can be useful even outside the world of sports.
No matter what program or course you are studying, there are often things that feel more rewarding, inspiring, and motivating to study than others. You just have to make the best of the situation, realize that you don't have to love everything you do, and remember that knowledge is never a burden to carry.
