On February 21 at 9:00 AM at Karolinska Institutet, doctoral student Oscar Pico will defend his thesis on massage and exercise for chronic neck pain.

The thesis is based on the STONE study, the world's largest RCT (randomized controlled trial) in the field (620 patients), which was conducted a few years ago in collaboration with the School of Naprapathy and involved around thirty naprapaths providing treatment and advice.
Former president of the School of Naprapathy Eva Skillgate, now a professor at Sophiahemmet University and lead researcher for the study, along with naprapaths Peter Viklund, Martin Asker, and Fredrik Johansson, have all contributed to the interventions evaluated in the study.
Oscar Pico's principal supervisor is Eva Skillgate, and the opponent is Professor Jan Hartvigsen, a chiropractor from Denmark and one of the world's leading experts in the field of musculoskeletal epidemiology.
It promises to be an exciting and interesting event, highly relevant to naprapaths and others with an interest in exercise and manual therapy.
No advance registration is required to attend the dissertation defense.
