In this blog post, I want to emphasize the importance of equal treatment at the School of Naprapathy. In addition to the existing Student Handbook and other documents regarding the Academic Code of Conduct, dress code, etc., there is now a specific section in the Student Handbook, PART 3: Equal rights, obligations, and opportunities. Please read it!
“The goal of the School of Naprapathy is to offer a safe, tolerant, and inclusive study environment free from prejudice. No form of discrimination whatsoever is tolerated. Since a future professional life as a naprapath involves working with people, it is extremely important to adopt a professional approach during your studies. This applies in all situations toward fellow students, patients, teachers, staff, and others.
To reach these goals, we must all contribute to an environment where we can thrive. Respecting the equal value of all people and demonstrating a professional approach are cornerstones of this work. The purpose of this document is to highlight everyone's equal rights, obligations, and opportunities at the School of Naprapathy, and it is therefore addressed to students as well as teachers, supervisors, and other staff. Furthermore, it is important to clarify what applies when equal treatment is not upheld. That is, what discrimination means, what you can do if you or someone else is subjected to it, what responsibility the college has, and what the consequences are for those who subject others to discrimination.
The study climate at the School of Naprapathy is very good, as shown by the annual student surveys. However, I believe in the potential to create even better conditions for equal rights, obligations, and opportunities, and I hope this document can contribute to that development!”
