Naprapathy College - Chiropractic College - Osteopathy College - Now that NIMM’s three programs in manual medicine are gathered under one roof, we want to make it as easy as possible to understand how they fit together. That is why Kiropraktorakademin is now changing its name to Kiropraktorhögskolan.
NIMM brings together education in three professions: naprapathy, chiropractic, and osteopathy. Each profession has its own identity, its own tradition of knowledge, and its own profession-specific training, yet they all form part of the same manual medicine educational environment.
With the names Naprapathögskolan (Naprapathy College), Kiropraktorhögskolan (Chiropractic College), and Osteopathögskolan (Osteopathy College), the structure is simply clearer. For our current students, prospective students, and everyone else who encounters NIMM, it should be easy to understand which program is which and how the three schools relate to one another.
The name Kiropraktorhögskolan has previously been used by the Scandinavian Chiropractic College Foundation (SKHS), which provided chiropractic education in Sweden for many years.
During the spring and summer of 2026, an orderly transition was carried out, giving students from SKHS the opportunity to continue their studies at NIMM. Their previous education was assessed individually and credited toward NIMM’s chiropractic program based on each student's completed coursework.
In connection with this process, the rights to the name Kiropraktorhögskolan were also transferred to NIMM. For us, it was natural to let a well-known and established name live on, now as the name for NIMM’s chiropractic program.
It is important to note that NIMM has not acquired any part of the operations previously conducted by the Scandinavian Chiropractic College Foundation.
Even before the transition, NIMM already operated its own chiropractic program under the name Kiropraktorakademin. What has occurred is that students from SKHS were given the opportunity to continue their studies within NIMM’s existing educational operations. As the students from SKHS moved to NIMM, the right to use and manage the name “Kiropraktorhögskolan” was also transferred.
The name change from Kiropraktorakademin to Kiropraktorhögskolan is therefore not about an acquisition, but primarily about clarity, continuity, and a robust naming logic with three colleges side by side.
NIMM now houses the Naprapathy College, the Chiropractic College, and the Osteopathy College within a shared educational environment. Students and teachers meet across professional boundaries and can benefit from shared resources in areas such as medical subjects, science, clinical training, and administration, while each profession retains its own identity and profession-specific specialization.
This is a development we believe in: gathering expertise where there are clear points of intersection, while simultaneously safeguarding what makes naprapathy, chiropractic, and osteopathy unique professions in their own right.
