Licensed physician and Doctor of Medicine, Helène Schulte, will become the new rector of the School of Naprapathy starting August 1. Helène has served as acting rector for the past academic year, and as director of studies since 2009. Helène Schulte earned her doctorate in 2005 with the thesis “Human experimental pain models: Methodological & analgesic studies” at Karolinska Institutet, and has also worked at the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine at Karolinska University Hospital, with a special interest in emergency medicine at UCLA, USA.
The School of Naprapathy is a unique place for education and research in manual medicine, says Helène Schulte. We host the largest naprapathic training program in the world, and my goal is to contribute to the continued development of the profession through high competence, dedication, and critical thinking.
The recruitment process was managed by the college's advisory board, chaired by former Member of Parliament Yvonne Andersson. As a basis for the recruitment, a survey was conducted among the college's staff, faculty, supervisors, and student union, as well as the boards of the Swedish and Norwegian Naprapathic Associations. The survey responses provided guidance throughout the process and determined the weight given to various qualifications in the candidate profile.

During her year as acting rector, Helène has shown great dedication to the organization and a high level of responsiveness to students, faculty, and staff alike. It will be very exciting to see how the program develops moving forward, as I am convinced that Helène Schulte’s infectious enthusiasm and expertise will make an already excellent program even better.
I want to find new ways to help students grow in their studies and explore new paths for different learning processes, says Helène Schulte. I also want to offer a number of continuing education courses and strengthen collaboration with other educational institutions. The goal is to facilitate the academic process, which I believe is very important. My year as acting rector has been extremely stimulating, and I look forward with confidence to new projects that will lead the college into the future.
Licensed naprapath Camilla Bolin will become the new Director of Studies starting August 1, a position she will share with licensed naprapath Helene Hultholm. Camilla is no stranger to the organization, having served in an acting capacity over the past year. Since 2009, Camilla has been the head of the college's clinic, a role she will continue to hold. We see significant positive synergies in having one person hold both the position of clinic manager and director of studies, says Inger Berg.
Combining the role of clinic manager with that of director of studies has given me deeper insight into the organization and the students' daily lives, says Camilla Bolin. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the development of the college, while also having the privilege of working with our core subject, clinical naprapathy.
The Advisory Board of the School of Naprapathy warmly welcomes Helène and Camilla to their respective positions as rector and director of studies, and we look forward to many years of continued successful collaboration.
