Statistics Sweden's latest report shows that healthcare is a profession of the future.

According to the latest report from Statistics Sweden (SCB), trends indicate that healthcare professionals are a vital future profession with a strong job market. SCB regularly conducts long-term analyses and forecasts for the labor market and the education sector. The latest report, “Trends and Forecasts, 2023: Population, education, labor market – looking ahead to 2040”, clearly highlights that the need for healthcare personnel is expected to increase due to the growing proportion of elderly people in the population. According to SCB's forecasts, the number of people over 80 in Sweden is expected to increase by 55% by the year 2040. The report points to the risk of shortages in several educational groups within healthcare, such as registered and specialist nurses, midwives, biomedical scientists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

Although naprapaths are not specifically mentioned in the report, the category of physiotherapists is included, which can be considered the most closely related professional group.
With the increasing demand for healthcare personnel, particularly in fields like physiotherapy and related professions, this could mean good opportunities and stability for naprapaths in the future. Choosing an education in this field can be a wise and promising career choice!
