According to SCB's forecasts, the number of people over 80 in Sweden is expected to increase by 55% by the year 2040. The report points to the risk of shortages in several educational groups within healthcare, such as registered and specialist nurses, midwives, biomedical scientists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
